Char-Meck Emergency Management educates residents on responding to disasters

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management wants to make sure residents are ready in case a natural disaster hits.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s PrepareAthon! is a week-long event designed to promote awareness and educate people on what natural disasters could occur in communities, how to stay safe and how to provide help in the community.

There is a schedule of events and themes each day during the week that center around emergency preparedness.
