City Council approved buying body cameras for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The police department plans to spend $250,000 from drug seizures to equip officers with the cameras.
Officers will be able to video what they do on patrol.
Police have not decided yet how many officers will have the body cameras.
