Charlotte-based company recalls cashews due to possible glass contamination

Snyder's-Lance, a company based in Charlotte, voluntarily recalled packages of Emerald cashews because small glass pieces may be found in the packages.

It's recalling the 100-calorie packages of roasted and salted cashew halves and pieces.

The company recalled the product after a consumer complaint and said no one has been hurt.

Consumers who bought the product should not eat it and can contact Consumer Affairs for a full refund online or by calling 503-364-0399.

In an unrelated case, Roland Foods is recalling cans of roasted red pepper strips because they could also contain glass pieces.
