The clergy led a walk to five sites of significance during the Charlotte riots: Marshall Park, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department headquarters, the Hyatt House hotel, the Omni Hotel and The Square at Trade and Tryon streets.

At the start of the walk, police and clergy could be seen from Chopper 9 Skyzoom walking together and shaking hands.

At each of the sites, the march paused and reflected on last year’s events and offered prayers and calls to action.

In response to the protests, more than 2,000 community leaders and organizations signed a statement of commitment acknowledging the issues connected to the need for change in the city of Charlotte.
