Charlotte firefighter home Tuesday after helping Sandy victims

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte firefighter is home Tuesday night after spending several days helping Superstorm Sandy victims.

Chris McCord and roughly a dozen firefighters from around North Carolina helped New York firefighters rebuild their homes.

McCord told Eyewitness News that he had never seen devastation like that before.

"In some of the areas we went to it looked like a bomb was literally dropped on certain locations," said McCord.

McCord said he is just glad that he was able to help fellow firefighters in need.
