Charlotte mother questions son left on busy road

A Charlotte mother wants answers after she found her son on the side of a busy road.

Nekeya Grace said her son Donta got on the wrong bus on Tuesday and was told by the bus driver to get out at the wrong stop.

When no one could find Donta, Grace said she jumped in her car and started driving back toward Winding Springs Elementary.

"I'm looking at cars coming toward me swerving to avoid hitting something because the street has no sidewalks," Grace said. "And I look, and it's my son."

Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools is still investigating what happened.

Officials could not say if the driver would face discipline but said the driver has been with the district since 2004.
