Charlotte police searching for robbers who knocked off 2 fast food restaurants Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for two armed men they said robbed a Taco Bell and a Wendy's minutes apart, just before lunch time Saturday in west Charlotte.

Both robberies happened around 10:30 a.m. on Freedom Drive just minutes after they opened.

Police believe the two robberies are connected.

One customer told Channel 9 she hoped police get the robbers off the street quickly.

"Shocking for one. I do come here often so I'm kind of alarmed to know it happened here, especially in the day time," said Daniella Dixon.

Police have not released a detailed description of the robbers.
