Charlotte Rescue Mission dedicates renovated space

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Rescue Mission held a dedication ceremony Sunday to recognize its newly renovated men's dormitory.

Volunteers have been helping with the two-month project and moved furniture in early last month.

On Sunday the Mission dedicated the dorms and thanked volunteers, donors and contractors.

"The men love this space. The first night they walked in they were almost in tears, wondering why anyone would want to do this for them," said Reverend Tony Marciano, executive director of the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

The dorm will house men who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
