ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A chase out of Davidson County ended with a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Rowan County, the Highway Patrol said.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said detectives tried to stop the driver, Kent Long, near the Rowan County line. Investigators said he was wanted on a weapons and parole violation.
They said Long took off down I-85 and crossed into Rowan County, where troopers picked up the chase.
Long drove six miles into the county before crashing at mile marker 68 near China Grove, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
Rowan Emergency Medical Services said four vehicles were involved in the accident, but it appears no one in those vehicles was hurt.
Long was taken into custody. He was taken to Lexington Memorial Hospital to be checked out, but he is expected to be OK.
Deputies said along with the weapons and parole violation, Long will face attempting to elude blue lights and sirens.
