GAFFNEY, S.C. — (AP) A former nurse at the Cherokee County jail has been arrested and accused of having sex with an inmate.
Thirty-nine-year-old Roanna Lynn Marks of Cowpens has been charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with an inmate.
Sheriff Steve Mueller said Marks worked for a company providing services to the jail.
An arrest warrant says the incident happened Oct. 28.
The State Law Enforcement Division investigated the case at the request of the sheriff's office. Marks could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison if she is convicted.
It was not clear if she has an attorney.
