CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 1-year-old boy outside of a home was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run Friday night on Augusta Street off Beatties Ford Road, police said.
Keith Rivera was charged with one felony hit and run with personal injury and two misdemeanor hit and runs with property damage.
Rivera hit a vehicle, jumped a curve and also hit the home before fleeing on foot.
The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It could've been one of my grandkids,” resident David Smith said. “I've been living here 29 years, on the same strip. It (doesn't) make (any) sense.”
The crash is under investigation.
