CHARLOTTE - City leaders are ready to take the next steps towards bringing Google Fiber to Charlotte.
It’s a fiber optic internet 100 times faster than broadband services.
People could get free internet after a $300 installation fee, to paying $120 per month for television and gigabyte service.
City leaders have to send plans for installation to Google by Thursday.
Google is set to decide if it will come to Charlotte before the end of the year.
