City plans to sell Carolina Theater for redevelopment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Monday, a better idea of what the city of Charlotte plans to do with the old Carolina Theater was revealed.

The city plans to sell the property so that it can be redeveloped.

The full city council plans to vote on whether to consider the three groups interested in buying the property.

If so, the city council could make a final decision as soon as Dec. 17.

The theater has been closed since the late '70s.
