CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Students at Burns High School in Cleveland County were suspended for refusing to remove Confederate flags from their cars.
The principal told Channel 9’s partners at The Shelby Star that the cars were parked on school property, but she did not say how many students were suspended last week.
The school handbook bans any conduct that disrupts a safe environment for students.
