CMPD arrest man accused of drunken driving, killing pedestrian

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a man accused of drunken driving and killing a pedestrian early Sunday morning in north Charlotte.

Officers said Christopher Granillo was speeding with an open container in his car when he hit and killed Douglas Clough.

Clough was trying to cross North Tryon Street just after 1 a.m.

Granillo now faces several charges, including involuntary manslaughter and driving while impaired.
