CMPD arrest man suspected in four gas station robberies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police charged a man in connection with Thursday robberies of four gas stations, according to a news release.

Eric Christopher Orr, 28, was arrested Sunday for possession of a stolen vehicle, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. A Metro Division Burglary Detective was requested to interview Orr because of the vehicle's relation to a breaking and entering case in the division.

After speaking with Orr, detectives noted Orr fit the physical description of the robbery suspect who wore a Frankenstein's monster mask during four robberies at local gas stations.

Detectives charged Orr with three counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery and four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

This is an ongoing investigation with forthcoming charges for additional cases.
