CMPD arrest two men accused in 6 armed pharmacy robberies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives arrested two men Friday in connection with six recent armed robberies, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The robberies at pharmacies across the Charlotte area took place between Nov. 8 and Dec. 7, police said.

Jamir Montegut, 22, and Javonne Carter, 34, were charged with six counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, six counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of firearm by felon.

One of the robberies was at a Dilworth Drug Store on East Blvd.

The manager of a nearby restaurant told Channel 9 that she is grateful police made a quick arrest.

“I'm very relieved, because it happened while our business was open, as well as theirs, and they could have very easily come over here and involved our customers and our staff here as well,” Jersey Mike’s manager Beth Royer said.

Police didn’t say what the suspects took in each case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
