CMPD charges woman with child abuse arrest

CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte woman is facing child abuse charges Wednesday after her baby was brought to the hospital with a fractured skull.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Rory Smith at her home Wednesday.

The Department of Social Services was called to the hospital to investigate.

Smith is charged with three counts of felony child abuse and serious bodily injury.
