Detectives told Channel 9 the same suspect broke into the disabled woman's apartment on Wynbrook Way around 6:30 a.m. Thursday while the victim was home alone, and attacked her.

“Well, they say he came back in through the window. That's what I heard,” neighbor Merrick Moore said.

The previous case, on Nov. 16, involved a sex assault, police told Channel 9. The woman told officers she was able to fight off her assailant during that attack before he ran away.

“What she's describing, it sounds like it's going to be the same perpetrator,” CMPD Lt. Melanie Peacock said.

The woman, who didn’t want to be identified, said a young man forced her clothes off and tried to get her to perform sex acts until she found the strength to fight back.

“I was just shaking,” she told Eyewitness News following the first attack. “I said, ‘Please, leave my house.’”

She said she fought back and was able to get the attacker out of her home.

“God gave me strength, and I just hope nobody goes through that stuff,” she said.

The attacker was described as an African-American man, approximately 20 to 25 years old, with a thin build and is about 6 feet tall.
