CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 16-year-old student appeared in court Wednesday morning for bringing a gun onto Harding University High School’s campus, police said.
Damond Ramond Wright is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a gun on educational property.
Harding University High School’s principal sent a message to parents, informing them that the weapon was found on campus.
He said school administrators were alerted about the possibility of the weapon. The administrative team and school resource officers responded and discovered the gun.

This is Mr. Ward, principal of HUHS. Today, school administrators were alerted about the possibility of a weapon on campus. The administrative team and school resource officers quickly responded to the report, and as a result, a weapon was discovered.
