Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives are investigating a homicide in east Charlotte, officials said.
Officers found a man with gunshot wounds just before 11 a.m. in the 4900 block of Central Avenue, police said.
Detectives have identified the victim as Jeffrey Arthur Johnson, 49.
His family has been notified of his death.
MEDIC pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.
Officials said this is still an ongoing investigation.
