CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are looking into whether two overnight armed robberies might be connected.
The first happened around 1 a.m. at the QuikTrip on South Boulevard, near Arrowood Road. Officers said a man armed with a knife ran from the store after robbing it.
No one was hurt.
Almost two hours later, investigators told Channel 9 three armed robbers targeted a 7-Eleven on Monroe Road near Briar Creek.
Officers said the suspects stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing.
Channel 9 watched as officers looked for clues at both scenes. Detectives said they were also looking over surveillance video in an effort to track down the group.
No arrests have been made.
