CMPD: Man robbed, shot twice overnight in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were investigating an overnight robbery and shooting that left one person hospitalized in north Charlotte.

Police said they responded to Chelsea Jade Lane around 2:40 a.m. and found a 24-year-old man suffering from two gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with what police said was non-life threatening injuries.

According to a police report, the victim told police he was approached by an uknown man with a gun who demanded his wallet. After handing the wallet over, the victim said he turned to run and was shot twice from behind.

Officers said they did not have any suspect information.
