CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was the host for the 13th-annual Domestic Violence Memorial Tree Ceremony Thursday evening.
At the CMPD headquarters, officers read the names of those killed in domestic-related homicides and placed a ribbon on the tree in their memory.
From January to November, there were 70 domestic violence homicides in North Carolina. Twelve of those victims were from Mecklenburg County.
