Man arrested after armed robbery at east Charlotte CVS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were able to arrest a man they said robbed a CVS Pharmacy in east Charlotte Tuesday night.

Officers were called just before 7 p.m. to the store at Albemarle and Redman roads. Witnesses said the man walked into the CVS with a handgun and demanded property before running away.

Police managed to stop the suspect vehicle a short time later and pulled it over. They said Brandon James got out of the car and ran off but officers were able to chase him down and arrest him.

He faces several charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said the driver did not have any knowledge of the robbery and will not face any charges.
