CMPD: 3 taken into custody after shots fired into Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people were taken into custody Tuesday morning while officers were investigating a shots fired into home call.

The location of the shots fired call is unclear, but the victims inside the home gave officers the suspects' location, which led them to a home on Irma Street in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood, police said.

Police said they were looking for two suspects, but three people were inside the home at the time.

They said one suspect ran from the home and the two other people stayed in the home.

Police said they found the suspect who ran and took him into custody.

Authorities have not released the names of the suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
