CMPD: Suspect in South Boulevard robbery identified

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After receiving numerous tips from the community, robbery detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have identified the suspect in a Nov. 29 robbery of Wells Fargo on South Boulevard.

Richard Paul Wiley, 56, has been charged with common law robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting a public officer.

Wiley is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's office.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department would like to thank the public for its assistance in providing the information that led to the identity of the suspect in this case.
