CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police are urging residents in Uptown Charlotte to be vigilant following a third robbery in as many weeks.
Early Wednesday morning, a woman was carjacked on E. 8th Street by four teenagers as she returned home from her birthday celebration at a friend's home.
On March 28, police said a man who lives in the Fourth Ward was robbed at gunpoint by three teen suspects on N. Pine Street; officers have since arrested two 15-year-old suspects and 17-year-old Keith McCoy.
On March 16, investigators said two St. Patrick's Day revelers were also robbed at gunpoint of their cellphones and wallets on E. 9th Street.
"We don't believe they are connected, but they're all late at night and they all involve groups of young people," said Capt. Mike Campagna.
Officers are asking residents to dial 911 if they see groups of young people gathering late at night in residential areas.
"Let us us get out there and figure out if they belong there and what they're involved in," Campagna said.
