22-year-old woman shot, killed in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives are investigating after a woman was fatally shot Friday night in east Charlotte.

Just after 10 p.m., officers said an argument broke out between several people in the 1700 block of Darbrook Drive, not far from Central Avenue.

Another set of officers responded to Novant Presbyterian Hospital after staff reported admitting a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. ER staff pronounced Jasmin Rena Flores, 22, deceased shortly after she arrived.

Detectives are interviewing a man at police headquarters who they say fired a gun.

Detectives are still investigating the relationships between the people involved in the shooting.
