• Columbia officer facing DUI charges


    COLUMBIA, S.C. - A Columbia police officer is facing DUI charges after police said he hit a sign and fence while on the job.

    Harold Julius Caldwell was arrested Friday morning while responding to a call at an apartment complex.

    No one was hurt.

    The police chief called Caldwell's actions, "disappointing."

    He said that Caldwell will be fired next week.
