NEW YORK - CNNMoney reported Monday that Comcast is creating private Wi-Fi routers of customers into public hotspots.
Comcast started the project a year ago to blanket residential and commercial areas with Wi-Fi coverage.
The company was swapping out old routers with new ones that could double as hotspots. So far, 3 million devices have been changed, CNNMoney reported. By the end of 2014, the company plans to activate the feature on the other 5 million devices it had already installed.
