Concord departments provide gifts for families in need

CONCORD, N.C. — Fourteen Concord families will have a Merry Christmas thanks to firefighters, officers and local businesses.

The departments began the effort 15 years ago to provide gifts for families in need, our partners at the Independent Tribune report.

K-mart was the biggest donor, but earlier this year, it closed its doors, so several local businesses stepped up to make sure children had gifts under the tree.
