Cornelius firefighters to push for raise at town board meeting

CORNELIUS, N.C. — Cornelius firefighters plan to attend a town board meeting Monday.

They currently make $13 per hour, but they are demanding a $2 raise and more staff.

Cornelius Mayor Pro Tem Mike Miltich said he met with the local fire chief to apologize for a secret recording where he berated firefighters.

Channel 9 obtained the recording from an anonymous source last week.
