CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. - An experienced skydiver was killed during a jump accident this weekend in Chester County.
The Chester County coroner confirmed with Channel 9 that 65-year-old Wolfgang Langehans, known as Pete, died when his primary parachute apparently malfunctioned during his jump Sunday. It is not clear what happened to his backup chute.
Skydive Carolina said Langehans had jumped more than 5,500 times over 30 years.
Langehans was from Columbia and was a regular at the Chester County skydiving business.
The FAA is investigating the accident.
