ROCK HILL, S.C. - It could be January before Rock Hill hires a new police chief.
The current chief will retire in two weeks.
The city manager said he will either name an interim chief or ask the department’s three police captains to assume the leadership duties.
The Herald in Rock Hill was at a public meeting Thursday night where many people said the new chief should be personable and visible.
