CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte hosted country music's Zac Brown Band Thursday night at the PNC Music Pavillion, the first outdoor music event in the area since the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

A security expert said the venue doesn't have the same kind of risks as Las Vegas because it's enclosed

and there are no high-rise buildings nearby.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officials said a third party hires off-duty officer to work at events like the Zac Brown Band concert.

Concert workers said the PNC Pavilion had no concerns of threats.

Routine security checks were also in place.

"I don't know how much more security (they) would need I mean if someone wants to do something like that,” concert-goer Mike Joyce said. “I don't know how you're going to stop it.”
