LANCASTER, S.C. - Deputies arrested two people in Lancaster earlier this week after finding 26 pounds of marijuana in their car and house while searching for a man wanted for possession of marijuana, authorities said on Friday.
Investigators had been searching for Mynone Rashad Blair, 36, to serve a warrant charging him with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff's Office news release. They found him on Tuesday leaving a house on Pacer Drive, so they stopped his car.
Deputies found a large amount of cash and marijuana inside the vehicle, the release states. Officials arrested Blair and then found more marijuana after searching the home. Authorities discovered even more marijuana at a Spirit Road home in Heath Springs, where Blair told deputies he also lived.
In total, deputies recovered 26 pounds of marijuana worth at least $25,000.
Authorities also found cash, drug paraphernalia and a handgun, the release states. Blair was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana more than 10 pounds but less than 100 pounds, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and resisting arrest.
His girlfriend, Lakeisha Sharmeka Gaston, 29, who lives at the Pacer Drive home, was also arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana.
