GASTON COUNTY, N.C. - One person died in a crash in Interstate 85 that caused major traffic backups Friday afternoon, officials said.
The accident happened just south of McAdenville around 3 p.m. Officials said a pickup truck hit a yellow minivan, and the truck later flipped further down the road.
Officials said two people were taken to the hospital. The driver of the truck died at the hospital, officials said. The other driver did not have serious injuries.
