CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A crash Thursday morning shut down part of a busy southwest Charlotte road and knocked out power for some Duke Energy customers, officials said.
Authorities said a truck with a high load brought down power lines on Westinghouse Boulevard. Police closed Westinghouse Boulevard in both directions near Goodrich Road.

Police said the driver left the scene.
Duke Energy reported that nearly 270 customers lost power because of the crash. Duke expects to restore power by 1 p.m.
