Dog rescued from house fire in west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters battled flames at a home in west Charlotte Monday morning.

It was around 10:45 a.m. that crews responded to the house along Mayflower Road off Remount Road.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene and could see firefighters on the roof, which had significant damage.

Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services tweeted pictures of a dog being given water after the fire.

They said the dog was their only patient.
