CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Power crews are working to repair more than half a dozen power poles after police said a truck slammed into them Thursday night.
Officials said a pick-up truck hydroplaned and crashed on Chesapeake Drive near Black Satchel Drive around 7 p.m., knocking down seven power poles.
Repair crews are asking motorists to avoid the area by taking Oakdale Road to Brookshire Blvd. or take North Hoskins Road.
Police told Channel 9 that the road could be reopened by 10 a.m. Friday morning.
