MAIDEN, N.C. - A puppy was rescued after being stuck in a 6-inch sewer pipe for days in Maiden.
Firefighters said he'd been stuck in the pipe since at least Tuesday when they got the first call about a noise but couldn't find anything.
They were called back out to the area Friday near Delta Apparel.
To be able to see the puppy, they put a camera down into the pipe.
Public works officials were called out to break the pipe open so emergency crews could pull the puppy out.
The Maiden town manager said they've named the puppy Lucky.
They said Lucky is doing fine and the neighbor who first heard the puppy and alerted crews adopted him.
