DA dismisses charges against third suspect in 90-year-old's death

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A first-degree murder charge has been dropped against a third person who was arrested in connection to a 90-year-old man’s murder in Gaston County.

The district attorney said a conflict in evidence led him to drop the charge against Willie Frazier II on Monday and released him from jail.

Brian Carver and Carver’s stepson, Joshua S. Rick, still face first-degree murder charges in the death of Ray Jackson.

Jackson was reported missing earlier this month. Department of Transportation workers found his body nearly two weeks ago on the bank of a river on Landers Church Road in Gaston County.
