David Writebol clears quarantine, visits wife with Ebola in Atlanta

SIM missionary David Writebol has completed quarantine and visited his wife, Nancy, who is being treated for Ebola at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

David issued a statement Monday saying he and Nancy are very grateful for the outpouring of prayers and well-wishes.

David completed the 21-day medical monitoring period that is mandated by local and state public health authorities with no symptoms of Ebola.

He was cleared to travel to Atlanta to be by Nancy’s side to observe her recovery and return to health.

"I have had the great joy to be able to look through the isolation room glass and see my beautiful wife again. We both placed our hands on opposite sides of the glass, moved with tears to look at each other again,” David said.

“She was standing with her radiant smile, happy beyond words,” he said.

David said Nancy is slowly gaining strength and is “eager for the day when the barriers separating us are set aside, and we can simply hold each other.”
