On Thursday, Davidson College announced the largest gift in its history -- $45 million from the Duke endowment.
College officials told students and faculty that starting next year, the money will be used to construct or renovate six academic buildings.
They said the work will restructure the main academic part of the campus and encourage interaction between the arts and sciences by adding learning labs, shared equipment, computers, a cafe and artist studios.
