Deadline nears for North Carolina parents to have students vaccinated

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Parents in North Carolina are running out of time to make sure their children have all the vaccinations they need or risk being pulled out of class.

Parents have 30 days after the first day of school to make sure their children's shots are up to date.

The deadline is either Wednesday or Sept. 28 for districts in the area.

The Mecklenburg County Health Department is hosting an event at 9 a.m. Saturday called “Big Shots Saturday” at which children can get the required shots.
