Deputies: 3 pounds of high-grade marijuana found during traffic stop

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — More than three pounds of high-grade marijuana and $24,000 in cash was found during a traffic stop on Interstate 77, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said they stopped a truck for speeding around 2 p.m. Tuesday and then smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. They conducted a search of the truck and found approximately 3.3 pounds of the drug, according to investigators.

James Rossi, 22, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. He was placed into the Iredell County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond, the sheriff’s office said.

Christopher Dubois, 21, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and released, officials said.
