Deputies: 3 SC schools placed on lockdown after suspect flees

ROCK HILL, S.C. — York County deputies caught a man they said was wanted for kidnapping and attacking his girlfriend.

Three Rock Hill-area schools were forced into lockdown Monday afternoon.

The York County Sheriff's Office tweeted that they caught Heyward Wurdamann, 20, Monday afternoon.

Police were trying to serve a warrant when the man fled.

The lockdown was lifted after 10 minutes.
