Deputies were called to the store on Pageland Highway in the Buford community after two workers locked themselves in an office and called 911.

The employees told officers that a man came into the store with a gun and demanded money. They said after taking the money, the man left the store in a car.

No one was hurt during the robbery, deputies said. Authorities believe he acted alone.

A deputy determined the man had been in the Buford Express convenience store, located across the road, moments before he robbed the Dollar General.

The Buford Express captured images of the man believed to have committed the robbery and his car on its surveillance system.

The robber is a black male, wearing jeans, a dark jacket and a dark ball cap. The car he was driving is a dark or metallic-colored four-door sedan and was described as a Honda, but investigators said they have not confirmed the make.

"We hope someone saw something last night and will call us so we can identify this man," Faile said. "He terrorized two store employees with a pistol, and we need to arrest him before he decides to do this again. If you saw the robber or the car or have any idea who this man is, please contact us."

Anyone with information is asked call the Lancaster County Sheriff's Officer at 803-283-3388 or Midlands Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
