ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in Rowan County are investigating a homicide after a man was found stabbed to death overnight.
The sheriff’s office was called to a mobile home on Cone Drive, off Highway 801 in Woodleaf, around midnight and found Barry Hepler lying dead on the living room floor.

Deputies said Hepler got into an argument with 25-year-old Satonia Gray inside another trailer on Cone Drive and that she stabbed him multiple times.
When authorities arrived at the scene, Gray was gone.
Witnesses told deputies that they saw Gray wielding a knife in the mobile home park before leaving the scene.
Deputies obtained a warrant for murder against Gray and reached out to Davie County officials to help find her.
Later Tuesday morning, Gray was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Mocksville, still wearing bloody clothing, where deputies said she confessed to the crime.
Hepler's sister told Channel 9 she is devastated by what happened.

She said that her brother, his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend, Gray, were all inside the trailer when her brother and Gray began arguing and she stabbed him.
"The girl that done it was on drugs,” Hepler's sister told Channel 9. “He made a smart comment … and she stabbed him."
Hepler made it out of the trailer and over to his father's home, but died there.
“This person that killed him, the girl that killed him, she's known around here as a bully to some people,” said Hepler’s nephew, Chris Wilson.
Hepler's sister said her brother was a wonderful person who had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back.
Gray was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
